yay for personal goals!

last night was exciting, as one of my friends chose to stop smoking! it's gonna be a long hard month, but we'll get her past those nicotene cravings.

i had a bass board meeting last night which is always interesting. they sat and talked about what needs to happen to make the team bigger and better. now i'm pretty sure i know a lot of what is stopping them and i've told them at meetings before...there is no sense of a team. the kids don't know how to compete competitively and aren't willing to either. i should be able to come down harder on them but it won't happen when meghan is there. she's the complete opposite of me...yells at them for no reason but isn't hard on them when it comes to work outs. i don't get it....and then the board asked me to tell them 2 good things that happened this summer. well...let me see...there are always good things that happen, it's just hard point out a specific one as it all melts together as one good thing. but if they would have asked me to tell them 2 bad thing that happened this summer...i would have told them all right there about meghan, as she wasn't there. i'm just not ready to bad mouth about her yet...unless i'm asked, of course. i can give the board countless ideas, but it's them that has to take them and run with them...it's so hard to watch them like this. i feel i should be doing more to help them but it's so different at these meetings. all you can do is to shut up and let them talk, i feel so intimidated by them, it's horrible. as far as i'm concerned, i'll coach this fall and spring and then we'll see what happens.

this weekend i have a little camping trip planned with square and nate. i'm excited, it should be fun! campfires and freezing cold nights are what it's all about. also, lake's are awesome. so here's to being even closer to a lake than i am right now (the college i'm at right now is right on a lake).

i've finished writing my resume, now onto a cover letter. for all of you who don't know, i'm going to apply for an internship with walt disney company so i'm in the process of writing a kick butt resume and cover letter. it's hard work. you never know if you are writing the right thing or not. but so much left to do with that.

o, and on a side note...team usa is kickin butt and getten er done! the men and women both took the gold in the 800 free relay (4x200) and the women smashed the world record! yay! plus michael is earning golds left and right, natalie is too and aaron peirsol, who is one hot backstroker, is also earning golds! yay for usa swimming!

so...to all of you, have a wonderful day! i'm sure i will!
