the weekend: part 3: SUNDAY

woke up at 7:30 making a run for the campfire that has already been started. i was criciticalizing about how cold i was and just sat there with my face, hands and feet practically in the fire. i sat there trying to warm up when nate noticed we were out of fire wood. he asked if anyone knew were we could get some and yesterday i remember that when we were at the cabins planting trees, there was shelters outside of each one with firewood stacked in them. i told nate that we were going to go steal some and he was like, really? i was like yeah! let's go! so we hopped into my car, cranked the heat and made the 5 min. venture to the cabins. once we got to the area, nate started humming the song from mission impossible. it made it even better that we both had stocking hats on our head, mine black and his army green. when we located the cabin that would fall victim to our renegade, we pulled up. nate kept saying, "further...further...wait...a little further..." until i was almost over the cliff and then, "stop!" we got out of the car, grabbed the wood, and got out of there. even better is that when we got to the cabins, the main road to them was closed, but we were able to get to one. i told nate they must have known we were coming.

when we got back, the majority of us that have taken over kp duties got to work with breakfast. although we were sick of waffles from our waffle breakfast fundraisers, we had the leftover waffles and sausages from that along with eggs for breakfast. at first we tried to cook the waffles on a stick but it didn't work so well. eventually we ended up putting them on tin foil and then on the grate of the campfire pit. the few of us thought it would be wise to cook for those of us who were up and we would make more when the rest woke up. of course, once our food was done, that's when everyone else woke up. opps!

after we got everyone up and everyone was feed or had started eating, the take down of the tents occured. it took about 4 people to take down my tent and 3 people to zip it: square pushing, me sitting and caitlyn zipping. ah, the fun and enjoyment of that. but low and behold, we got 'er done.

once the cars were packed with food, sleeping bags, tents, chairs and the habifam, we were back off for good ol bemidji. once back, everyone one was dropped off at their appropriate dorms and houses, that is, after square attempted to take nate out in the parking lot. she just lunged for him and they started wrestling, trying to get the other to fall down before them. i started cheering with all the excitment! oopa! after those two were broken up, i took nate and joanna, dropping them off at their respected places and then ran home to shower and change before church. i was running a couple of min. late but i got nate and square picked up and we made it to church on time.

during church, a wave of tiredness hit me hard. right before the sermon, i turned to square and nate and said, "i don't think i'm going to make it!" i closed my eyes during church and listened to the sermon. square kept hitting me with a hymn book when she thought i was sleeping. too bad i didn't have enough energy to hit her back.

after church a group of us met again to go out and wash windows for our rent-a-habitater jobs. we had first met at the newman and saw lo j and earl. we unloaded everything that had to go back to the newman before we left. then we were off to the job. i had to leave a little bit into job, as i had to meet my group for graphic design so we could work on our cd. i ended up in the superlab, on my stomach, taking pictures of tami's shoes on a monopoly board with my digital camera. how fun. people had to step over me!

afterwards, i headed back to the window washing group. they were just finishing up. while waiting i sat and played with the lady's dog on the couch. it was very entertaining to get the small dog to jump over my legs. we finish up and decide that we are all hungry. we decide on taco john's. i take off in my car, the rest in square's van. halfway there, i get a call on my cell phone. it's nate.

"where are you going?"

"taco johns" i tell him.

"where are you right now?"

"i'm on paul bunyan headed there."

"why are you going that way? taco john's is over by ace."

"no it's not."

"yes it is. it moved over there. didn't you see it this morning? we went right by it. the old taco john's is now dunkin' doughnuts."

"whatever nate. stop lying to me. we don't even have a dunkin' doughnuts in town."

"i'm serious! don't you believe me?"

"no."

at this point i remembered myself thinking, i know this isn't right...i was just at taco john's this last week. it's still there!

"well, we're heading over to the one by ace. where are you now?"

"i'm on delton."

"where?"

"nate, what exactly is going on?"

"well, we're heading to the one by the mall, see you there! haha!"

"NAAAAAAAAATTTEEEE!"

he makes me so mad sometimes. when i caught up with them at taco john's, i refused to get out of my car. all nate could do was laugh. square offered comfort. nate tried to apologize but i told him, i can't trust you, you make me so mad! all of this is done with a smile on my face but to me, smiles are contagious. so, since he's smiling, all i can do is smile through my stubborn mood.

"i'm not going in there," i tell him.

he gets down on one knee while i'm sitting in my car.

"andi, i'm so sorry. will you please come inside with us and eat?"

by this time i am on the ground of the parking lot, having fallen out of my car with laughter! how could i say no to someone who apologizes by getting down on one knee? so yes, i gave in. i went inside and ate with them.

after a great supper and some good conversation, some more of nate's teasing, square, nate and i dropped everyone off and were back at the newman center. we sat out in the parking lot and talked some more, always trying to know one another better. nate started up with the teasing again..."the joke" again and after awhile he gave another apology and gave me a hug. we stood out in the parking lot talking a little longer and decided that we should go on a bike ride, but we each had a couple of things we needed to do. so we went our separate ways. i changed and filled up my bike with air and soon afterwards, square came over and then we both rode our bikes to nate's. from there we traveled along birchmont, riding along and talking about whatever. we ended up at the mansion and rode up to the hill and looked over at it, wondering about who lived there and if there lifestyle. we then realized we shouldn't be standing over looking someone's house while we talked so we headed back to cameron park and sat on the beach and told stories of our life, everything from prom to speeding tickets. then when it got cold, we headed back to the newman, dropped square off, made plans to watch a movie later and then nate and i traveled back to our houses.

i got back did some unloading of the car and such and then square picked me up and we went over to nate's to help him watch his homework assignment: the movie Kingpin. it's a very entertaining movie. i recommend it if there is absolutely nothing else to watch on tv.

afterwards, we sat, all realizing how tired we were. square and nate had fallen asleep during parts of the movie. me, i made it the whole way through! square said it was because i had taken a nap at church today. even if i had, i still came out victorious! i remembered that throughout the whole day, i wanted to take a nap. when i got home that night, talked to square online for awhile, i eventually hit the sack...and was out like a light.
